Dorothy’s History
Dorothy is a Citroen Deluxe Saloon was also built at Citroen’s factory in Slough, England but a year earlier than Harriet and Alice in 1927. Dorothy was sold from a dealership in Ipswich, Suffolk during the first week of 1928 and subsequently spent most of her time based around this area.
Dorothy is recorded as 1 of only 5 surviving models of this car worldwide – and we’ve got 2 of the others as well!
These British built vehicles were fitted out with a luxurious interior (to include a veneered dash board and door cappings), additional instrumentation and an option of ‘servo’ (power) assisted brakes!
Modernising a Classic
Dorothy, like Harriet and Alice, has had some very sensible and concealed modifications made, to allow it to be driven both reliably and safely on today’s roads.
Since we have owned this car we have made many modifications to ensure it is reliable and comfortable all year round with new weather-proofing and heaters to enable year-round operation.
Dorothy has even attended a wedding in the snow, performing faultlessly throughout the day – she didn’t get stuck like a couple of the guest’s modern cars did!
