Special Event Hire Statement

Wedding Car hire or appearances on TV & film do NOT apply to this statement - it's just for other special occasions (like birthdays, anniversaries, days out and more!)

It has become necessary for us to include this statement for using our classic and vintage vehicles for events other than weddings. New legislation means that such car use appears to be entangled within red tape regarding Taxi’s and Private Hire vehicles.

Regrettably due to this we are only able to offer our Vintage Citroens at such events provided the following conditions are met:

• We will only take the booking if it is booked in advance.
• We are only able to provide the car if there is an event involved – Birthday, Anniversary, Prom and the like.
• The car must be considered by us and you to be part of the event and NOT just as a means of transport to and from given locations.
• It must be understood by all that we do not and will not operate a taxi service.
• We always obtain a separate insurance extension for each event that we do, this is at additional cost to us and we always obtain the necessary insurance cover note in advance.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer our modern Jaguar for these events - as this is a modern car it could be perceived (by some) that it was operating as a Taxi, whereas older Vintage cars are clearly not and could not comply with Taxi regulations.

Apologies again for any disappointment this may cause but it is outside of our control - we, along with other companies that provide transport for such special events, will continue trying to get this law amended.
